Born in Surinam, now living in France, PATKO is a reggae / dancehall writer, composer and performer whose musical touch is sound and original. With a dozen singles, 3 officials videos and an album (Just Take It Easy) under his belt, he has been touring France for over 10 years alongside the biggest local and international reggae names.

This song is PATKO’s take on gangster stereotypes and violence promoted in the media as well as by certain artists, and the influence they have on today’s youth…

"I wrote the lyrics of this song after my last trip home to Surinam, where I found a young generation “perverted” by the “badness” mentality promoted on television and by certain artists. Back when I used to live there, we wanted to make it, we were listening to “foundation reggae” - We were trying to get by and stay positive, no one was dreaming of being a gangster… Today, the outlook is much gloomier."
